Elections

These are the positions open for nominations.
 

PRESIDENT

  • Provides direction to Regional Directors and officers.
  • Authorizes the payment of debts generated by the Corporation and together with the Treasurer may sign checks in payment thereof consistent with the annual budget and subsequent amendments thereto which have been approved by the Board of Directors or a committee appointed for this purpose.
  • Appoints all committees, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors and is an ex-officio member of all committees.
  • Presides at all meetings of the Board of Directors or appoints an officer or other director to preside in his/her stead.
  • Interprets the By-Laws.
  • Directs and exercises general supervision of the work of the Corporation, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.
  • Employs staff necessary to carry out the work of the Corporation with the approval of the Board of Directors.



VICE-PRESIDENT 

  • Shall be responsible for whatever duties deemed helpful by the Board of Directors.



VICE-PRESIDENT FOR MEMBERSHIP

  • Maintains an updated list of all CUB members; quarterly sends each Regional Director a list of members for that Region and each Branch a list of members for that Branch.
  • Receives new memberships and renewals from members, deposits the checks and gives a copy of the deposit slip to the Treasurer and President, and informs the Treasurer of the amount to be distributed to each Branch.
  • Performs additional duties as directed by the Board of Directors.



SECRETARY

  • Acts as the clerk of the Corporation subject to the direction of the President and the approval of the Board of Directors.
  • Takes minutes of the Board of Directors meetings and includes with the Notice of Annual Meeting the minutes from the previous Annual Meeting and any special meetings.
  • Performs additional duties as directed by the Board of Directors.



TREASURER

  • Subject to the direction of the President and such regulation as the Board of Directors adopt, oversees the receipt and deposit of revenues of the Corporation in such banks as designated by the Board of Directors, furnishing the President with a duplicate copy of each deposit made.
  • Pays the debts of the Corporation consistent with the annual budget and subsequent amendments thereto which have been approved by the Board of Directors or a committee appointed for this purpose, and sends a copy of all checks written to the President.
  • Pays the salary set by the Board of Directors of employees and timely forwards to the President a copy of the bill schedule indicating dates and amounts of compensation for the services covered by the paycheck.
  • Pays travel or other expenses of officers, directors, or employees upon presentation of properly executed vouchers and approved by the President or his/her designee.
  • Gathers statistics and financial data from Branches and Representatives as may be required by the Board of Directors.
  • Advises Branch Treasurers upon their request.
  • Keeps an accurate account of all funds received and disbursed.
  • Assures that a written inventory of all furniture, fixtures, equipment and capital assets of the Corporation is maintained.
  • Gives to the President and Secretary in time to be included with the Notice of Annual Meeting a Treasurer’s Report which includes a copy of the most current bank statements, and a report showing account balances, income, and expenses for the previous fiscal year, estimated account balances and income and expenses for the current year, and a proposed budget.
  • Assures the filing of all financial forms and reports required by any governmental unit or agency.
  • Causes the books of the Corporation to be audited and opens the Corporation’s books for inspection by auditors at the request of the Board of Directors.
  • Performs additional duties as directed by the Board of Directors.



REGIONAL DIRECTORS

  • Serve as advisors to the CUB Branches and non-affiliated members in their regions and serve as liaisons with the Cub Board for these branches and individuals.
  • Contact Branch coordinators and representatives at least quarterly; ask coordinators and representatives for quarterly reports on local membership and activities.
  • Report to the Board at the annual meeting on all CUB related activities within their regions.
  • Respond to requests from interested persons for information about CUB;
  • May initiate publicity about CUB
  • May conduct Regional conferences or develop a Regional newsletter
  • Performs additional duties as directed by the Board of Directors.
